It's only 25 days in to 2013 and many good things have happened:
I was asked to interview to be an EFY counselor. I should be hearing back from them in 3-6 weeks.
The plants on my counter are sprouting and adding a little garden in my apartment.
I got accepted for a Travel Tour to the east coast in August. I'm excited for the adventure! Here's a tentative list of fun:
- Salt Lake City sites
- Plymouth colony/Salem/Lexington/
Concord/Walden Pond - New York City (Central Park, Ellis Island, the Metropolitan Museum, and the Broadway play "Wicked")
- Philadelphia (Independence Hall)
- Mount Vernon/Washington D.C. (Smithsonian and Mall sites, Temple, National Museum)/Gettysburg
- Harmony and Palmyra (Sacred Grove, Smith Home, Hill Cumorah, Grandin Press, and the Peter Whitmer Farm)/Seneca Falls/Niagara Falls
- Kirtland, OH
- Nauvoo and the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, IL
Madison, my friend (and now roommate) that got baptized this summer, got to go in the temple for the first time for baptisms.
Another roommate, Chandra, got engaged a few days ago. She's getting married in June!
Clara decided to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
One of my friends from freshman year is pregnant and due in July.
Another freshman-year friend is in the MTC and learning Russian so she can serve in Ukraine and Russia.
My brother opened his mission call today and is going to the Brazil Racife Mission. He reports to the Brazil MTC on June 19 and will be speaking Portugese!
So much joy and happiness all around :)
